Mani Bhavan is a simple old-style, two storied building on Laburnum Road, Mumbai. The house belonged to Shri Revashankar Jhaveri, Gandhi’s friend and host in Mumbai. Whenever he was in Mumbai between 1917 to 1934, Gandhi stayed here. It was from here that he initiated Civil Disobedience, Satyagraha, Swadeshi, Khadi and Khilafat movements. Mani Bhavan stood witness to the important movements of Indian freedom struggle. It is now converted into a museum and research centre.
